No mention of what cam is in there. Also the way I read the info it sounds like it's a reconditioned stock crank. In a stroker, how much of the extra displacement is from the crank and how much is from the overbore? Price kind of seems too good to be true. (Especially after I just paid and picked up my stroker long block from Golen) :)

Shouldn't be an issue if they stand behind their work...

Majority of low-mid price strokers use 258 cranks that have been checked and/or remachined...

More importantly I would ask them if they used a 12 or 4 counterweight crank if you have a "preference"

You could call Toll free 1-888-477-8006 and ask for more info..
Assuming that engine does have a 258 crank, the longer stroke adds 560cc to the displacement so a standard bore stroker would displace 4516cc. A further 23.7cc is added for every 0.010" overbored.
My guess is the cam is a CompCams 68-239-4 unit (same as Golen stroker).

It's not the reconditioning that I was referring to although I can see how that could be inferred from my post. I was wondering more if it was in fact a crank from a 258.

buyer beware on ebay. I'm not saying that it isn't. I'm just saying that it doesn't say.

Guess I would like a price break down on how they can get it built so cheap and offer such a warranty.

I'm a firm believer in if it's too good to be true it probably isn't.

Jasper Engines want's $2200 for a stock 4.0 long block. I realize that the difference in parts cost is minimal to build a stroker vs stock.

I never said they weren't legit, but I'm curious as to how they do it and make any real money. I doubt they are going to answer that question on the phone.

For me it's idle speculation as I have already bought my engine and am in the process of getting it installed. I went the Golen route as I liked the fact that I was close enough to go and get it and see the facility myself (I live 150 miles away) and there was no core charge/exchange to worry about.
