chattanooga .. who's there?

it looks like after being unemployeed for a year plus i landed a short term contract in Chattanooga..
just like i asked for Nashville..
whats the good spots and whats the bad spots of Chatt?
where is it cheap but nice vs expensive and nice?

I dont know where the job is at yet..
or. if anyone has a spare bedroom i ll help pay for rent..

Im in chattanooga and live right at the hixson/north chattanooga border.

Chattanooga's downtown has really gotten alot nicer and is coming along great, as well as the Northshore/North Chattanooga area. The really nice areas in Chattanooga are on Lookout and Signal Mountain..but places up there would be pretty pricey.

I dont know what kind of place you are looking for (apt/house) but there are some apts downtown that are nice but kinda pricey as well as some pretty nice apartments near Hamilton place mall. If you are looking for renting a house, there are some nice homey, older houses that have been redone that are for rent in the north chattanooga/hixson area. Alot would have to do where the job is at to be honest... there are some nice places in ooltewah and cleveland (which i am not as familiar with) which are outside chattanooga a little bit.

When are you going to be coming down to Chattanooga? PM me and ill give you my cell for when you are down here.... be happy to show you around town.

i ll probably be looking on CL for a room mate type thing..
Its a short term contract of 3-6 months.. so i m just looking to stay short term unless it gets extended or goes perm..

... I have one person who comes to mind, that might have an extra room. let me throw the idea out there, and see what happens.

are you still gonna have the appartment in knoxville?
just you, or would your wife be staying too?
 
start date is may10.. my wife will stay in knoxville.. just need something for weekdays

Pretty likely to be able to find something that isn't too expensive in Red Bank. Not to mention you wouldn't be far from work then either. North Chattanooga may be an option too, but I know it varies a lot more.
 
drove around there today.. looks nice.. marky likes chattanooga!
AVON will adjust fine there...
the rubicon might have a hard time fitting in the parking garage..

now they call me and tell me i ll be starting on the 17th..
which is cool cause i still dont have a place to stay..
 
at least that will give you time to find somewhere... whenever you do get here, we should get a bunch of the chattanooga guys to go get some dinner and/or adult beverages to celebrate

some "adult beverages" are always good..
Tyler and Jarred took me to Bea's restaurant last time i was in town.. that was good food! but no adult beverages there.. lol

I m considering buying dougs MJ and swaping over Avon's engine and 4x4 drive train over to the mj.. wouldnt that be a hoot?
