chapter stuff/questions

You leave me out of this Remi, I was using it for leverage for myself and felt sorry for your plight. Then I helped re-gear, remove, install 2 axles and a rollcage on YOUR junk while mine sits there. I no longer feel sorry for you!!!!

Excuse me for the delay in responding here, been slammed at work lately. Anyway, I'll drop right into it here:

1. When are we going to have nominations/elections for the new term?
I will be opening a nominations/discussion thread on October 1.

2. Aren't we due for a general planning meeting?
I can tell you right now that I will not be able to attend any sort of meet and greet or meeting until after October is through, between work and trying to make the XJ safe to drive to Moab I have no time whatsoever.

3. Tshirts...
Haven't had the time to think about T-Shirts, I will say that hasn't been at the top of my priority list. This was originally stalled with talks to have the logo touched up (people didn't like the halfway rastor halfway vector look of it).

4. Annual event.
I have every intention of doing an event in Calico on the last weekend of January and one in Big Bear in April as we did last year. I am not inclined to start planning for it too early as people tend to loose interest if we start too early. Our events are not of the size to necessitate planning six months in advanced yet.

If you have any questions feel free to fire away - if I don't get back to you fast enough just call, PM or e-mail me.

well remi has my support, but i am not sure how he will look in the sweater/short skirt of the cheerleader.....
on that note i will be on the east coast during the moab event this year (bummer deluxe) but i will try to keep up to date on the chapter happenings. i am one of those who hang back and hide in the shadows most of the time. i promise to try to keep up on the chapter happenings more often in the future.
p.s. remi , if you are going to be cheerleader, please shave the legs!

Unfortunately some of us need to schedule those in (some people do work weekends) so it would be good to have advance notice. Also for Calico, it'd be good to get the bunkhouse again and that requires a reservation.

Well my aversion to planning too soon doesn't include setting dates, I just haven't had the chance to think of it yet ;)

Also, something I meant to mention...

If you all want to do a chapter meeting and Ron wants to and has the time he can set it up and all that jazz.

Last one was in OC, I would suggest that the next one should be held someplace in LA (somewhat more centralized?)

Sounds good. Name the place.

Oh, and will the power be on? :D

Would the JV event be good for a chapter meet?

I don't know. I think that last chapter meet we had at that burger joint was a good place. This time though it should probably be moved a bit north. While a lot of people will be going to JV, it is out of the way for quite a few of the others so unless they're going to the event they wouldn't be able to make it. Also somehow I have a feeling there will be a lot of wrenching going on after a full day of playing ;)

Sounds good to me. I bet you will probably get a bigger turnout too than if you had it elsewhere. Remi might have a point about attention spans though.

I'm sure I'll be fixing my $hit too.:laugh3:

Sounds good to me as well; it's not like we'll be getting full attendance anywhere on any date.

You all know how busy my schedule has been lately! I can only book out so much time lately between engine swaps, lifts, work, and the girlfriend (she does like to see me occasionally!)

I forgot that Choda Boy doesn't think he can make it out to JV.
