You really don't know all the issues with the ugly cheep black rims?
Even SeansXJ in his defense of them, still wants to go to bead locks.
I only had mine about 4 years, on my jeep now, I had them on both of my XJ's. I bent them up so many times, I even had to replace two of them. They would always loose the bead any time under 12psi, mud and sticks would find a way into the tire. The tire would spin on the rim and unbalance the wheel, always needed to have them rebalanced.
With all the other issues to deal with on the trail, like body damage and parts breaking, it is so nice to not have to think about your tires and rims.
I think a good looking set of bead lock rims can make the rig.
