I'm giving serious consideration to running again for the Director position I currently hold. I do enjoy being able to contribute when needed, and I feel the new BOD will likely want/need a little experience to draw from - but I want to see the "control" aspect of the BOD fall into totally new hands this time around. This Chapter needs a supportive kick in the pants and I know I can speak for the current BOD - that none of us have it in us any more.
I've served as President, Vice President and Treasurer/Secretary during my time with this club and I'll be perfectly honest here - The Chapter BOD duties are really fairly easy and you'll only be as busy as you allow yourself to be as the President/Vice President/Treasurer. It's dealing with National that really requires a very diplomatic, patient and sometimes persuasive person to put up with the silliness that goes on with such a large organization. If you're easily butt-hurt, defensive or antagonistic then a BOD seat isn't for you.
Organizing Chapter events can be fairly involved too - but truthfully, I've always enjoyed the end result when it's a success.
This Chapter was at it's "best" when we had regular quarterly meetings. It gets folks to meet face to face, get beyond the e-personas and really come together as a club. Many of you have seen this happen with just a few simple semi-organized trail runs where we BBQ and spend some good "chill" time in the hills.
The Western Slope Director position I believe is a fairly important role. We have a decent sized group of folks up that way that I'm sure feel a bit left out from the Chapter's activities. I'd challenge that Director to do what he/she can to get a mini-chapter going on that side of the State and get folks wheeling together and active. :thumbup:

Easy there big fella......... I simply put this post up to get people talking and interested......
October will likely be when we start taking nominations - I imagine October 15th through the 31st or sometime thereabouts. Elections are generally Nov. 15th, so the campaigning will likely be Nov. 1st to the 14th.
