Change - California Emissions

Hate to burst your bubble, but emmissions standards for OHV's are in the work. Quads, rails, etc. will all have to pass a smog test real soon.

wow total BS... when i start feeling too smothered i swear on everything im going to move to some other country like europe or like scotland or something... im starting to hate this country more and more as every law gets passed... :helpme:

As usual regardless of party it's politics as usual. T boone picket got it right, natural gas until we refine other types of fuel. why natural gas? burns super clean, plenty of it, easy as pie to switch vehicles over to,including older ones, tanks can be installed at most stations, and best of all it's" here"not in some far off ass backwards country. why is it not happening? money talks and they will exploit oil until it's gone.and yes the new world order controls it. Hmm busch was a oil man! hmm chenney was on board at haliburton!oil profits over the last 4 years were staggering.what really sucks is these trade agreements, jobs, what jobs ?there gone and to countrys that have no EPA, while we tighten up our EPA laws.anyone watch the olympics in china. they wear masks, due to the polluted air.it's time for all politicians to do the right thing and for us to demand they do it or... my .02 and i "was" a republican all my life. now i just want what's best for us all.the problems in this and other free countrys are easy to solve.86 the idiots!

I grew up in the San Gabriel Valley. I remember not being able to go out at recess during the 80's because of smog alerts and the air quality map was a big part of the daily weather. I believe smog laws have help combat poor air quality in southern CA. The thing the bugs me is the visual inspection part of the test. I think if a car "sniffs" good it should pass. I just had my 89 smogged and it was well with in the standards no and I'm willing to bet it will still pass with stricter regulations. It has 146,000 miles on it. If it needed a new motor to pass I would gladly get one

I completely argee, right now I'm fighting to get my brother inlaws CJ thru smog. It passed the emmisions test with flying colors but it has a leak in the evap system that I can not find. To me this is just a law that is trying to get older cars off the highway even if they are up to tighter emmision standards.

As far as I'm concerned they can set whatever limits they want on new cars. I am too damn poor to ever buy a new car anyway. What pisses me off is when they try to force those of us with properly running older vehicles to scrap them and they prevent us from making modifications to them despite the fact that many of those modifications actually lower emissions and improve mileage. A government that forces the will of the few upon the many is just a (goose) step away from a dictatorship!

sounds like so cal chapter LOL..... :twak:

if they want to make laws more strict and crap and my vehicles paid for, i may just not smog it anymore... look at the plus side, no smog fee, no registration fee and because you cant have insurance w/o registration... no insurance costs... you could be like all the other dishonest people driving around in their gross polluter w/o registration and insurance

get your priorities straight anti-obama nutjobs.
you put up w/ 8 years of bush, and THIS bugs you?

my only concern is that if they do impose regulations as strict as not allowing vehicle over 10 years old....both my vehicles are excluded and I have NOTHING to drive. Or I have to replace both engines with newer engines which will hopefull qualify with Kalifornia's new, stricter regulations.

Not to mention, I've never believed in the whole global warming crap from the get go...so I don't really see the need for emissions anyway....but then again I came from FL where there are no emissions. The fact that global temperature has decreased in the last 3 years while scientist suggest that all of our "green engineering" has had virtually a nil effect on greenhouse gasses, suggests that all this warming and cooling is nothing more than a natural cycle. And frankly I don't really care either....if you ask me, the worst thing we've done to this planet is overpopulate it. You want to stop global warming? Start genetic cleansing....doesn't matter what genetic line....you eliminate the overpopulation problem and the globe wil reach homeostasis....or what can best be described as homeostasis as the globe is constantly in a state of fluxuation. But then again, I could start a whole rant on this topic, so I'll just stop now. =)

they do it in europe... (tow w/ tiny tiny cars)

BUT A CARAVAN DOESNT WEIGH AS MUCH!

THIS AIN"T EUROPE... it's the UNITED STAES. a country bulilt on the premise of personal freedoms and RESPONSIBILITY. it just doesn't match up. this is socialist policy. plain fact.

creeping incrementalism my friend. this is just one step closer to making so that you have to pay for the emissions you put out, limiting the amount of miles you can drive before you pay a "fee" for driving.

i hope that california suffers horribly for this. i was born here- but i can't wait to leave here. it's not recognizeable anymore- not in the political sphere anyways. there will certainly be enough people who will eventually bail out because of this and other lame ass policies out state chooses to adhere to.

to be honest, car emissions are the least of my concerns right now...
the debt the older generation has put our country into concerns me more.
You guys are just getting warmed up.
:conceited

BTW, I think the EPA is goint to tell CA to take a hike.

I wish swapping citizenship was legal, you could have my passport. Europe is just one big concentration camp with entertainment. Nobody here is actually free.

You are already living in the land of the free, there's nowhere else to go.

I've got other worries besides emissions, but emissions still is a concern of mine. If they make it too difficult to make my vehicles pass smog, I'm out a vehicle to drive, unless they give me a new car. I can't afford one on my own and I'll be damned if I go into massive debt to buy one.

europe is also not a country, if you want to get into ball busting.

nobody is praising europe as the promised land anyways.
it comes down to americans critisizing our country in hopes of making it better.
