Career change?

Closing down my HVAC biz and going to work for another contractor was a huge mistake on my part. I've yet to see a full 40 hour paycheck. Spent yesterday at home waiting for some service calls....nothing. Looks like today will be the same.

I only get paid for the time I bill to a customer. I was led to believe that the techs were getting 50 hours a week.

That was a complete and total lie.

Basically I'm screwed. I can't provide for my family on 15-20 hours a week.

Frank a mobile mechanic. My car would not start and the problem was intermittent, got a guys name of the internet and he came to fix it just a loose connection ,i was charged 80 $ for him to come to my place 25 miles round trip., he was driving a newer van ,and he ws busy , stick a add in the net see what happens

I had no work for a while and pimped myself as a handyman. Just put up an ad on craigslist with some pictures of my work, a little about myself, and my prices. Ended up with enough work that I needed to hit up my buddies for some extra hands from time to time.

I still have residual business from those customers via word of mouth over 2 years later.
