cant get in to chat

i cant get in to chat, when i click the members chat it goes to this blue screen and says hit the space bar or hit enter to use this control so i do and it just stays blue and nothing happens. this is how it has been since we went to this newer system, i used to be able to get in the chat room on the old system, what do i have set wrong?
