Just throwing this out there. There is small group of 6-8 of us from another forum (Expo) that will be camping this weekend at the Jones Creek area in N. GA. Its an awesome area if you have never been, not much wheeling, but good times, a few beers, conversation, camp fires and amazing food. Probably only an overnighter on Saturday night, but still a good time. We are planning on being at the camp site areas of Jones Creek around mid to late Saturday morning.

If anyone form this area (Atlanta/Decatur/Marietta) wants to caravan up there, I know where we are going and can lead the way. If you know the area, you can just meet us up there.

Let me know if you have questions think you want to go, or feel free to join in the disucssion on the Expo thread in the regional eastern forums.

Can't make this trip, but post if there's another at some point. My son in law and I would be interested, and would show up with two more XJs to join the group.

Dude i live like 20 minutes from there I think... My wife has to work tonight, so we can't camp... I will drop by with the kids though and introduce ourselves. Where abouts is the camp site? I am coming from dawsonville on 136

Glad you made it by Chet, pleasure meeting you and the girls. Glad it way dry last night, although it was raining like crazy when we left this morning. You should browse around the Expo Portal a little more, you will like it. Its also a good place to see whats going on in your area, we do quite a bit right by your house!

Headed there now. Ya, I heard the rain this morning when I woke up and I thought of you guys. I had no idea that HUGE campsite was there! Are there any trails to wheel if I would have kept driving past the campsite? I would like to do some exploring up there in the daytime.

I expect a report and pictures. :)

Not much of a report, but I have a few pics. Just a short weekend trip up to the GA hills. GREAT weather on Saturday, Eric threw some giant chunks of pig on the smoker as soon as he got there, and about 7-8 hours later, we were eating some pretty darn killer pulled pork sandwiches, complimented with steak fries in the Dutch Oven (Bill), baked beans (myself), fresh salad (my wife), and a spice cake with pears and peaches in the Dutch oven (Bill)

Our two dogs had a great time with Jessi (Bill's pup), great food, great beer, and great conversation. Thats the gist of it.

Loaded everything up this moring in the pouring rain, and got home around noon after a short jaunt at the Huddle House. Bill and Mirtes are still there, and probably will be out camping all week for the thanksgiving holiday.

Hope the weather gets a little better for them.
