I go to the OHV area a lot because we all bring fun toys and hang out at night but I typically venture out in my jeep during the day while everyone goes out on dirt bikes and I just explore the back country. The whole forest is pretty cool, the ohv area has over 200 miles of back roads including dirt bike trails and all that. but outside of that its just good 'ol national forest. LOTS of trails, creek crossings and fun stuff. I like it because some of the trails take a little corrdination and thought but unless you do something stupid you're probably not going to get anymore damage then some scratches and you can take a stocker or slightly moded jeep out there and do perfectly fine. Its less stressful then constantly trying to negotiate rocks at the con but its more then where a car or 2wd truck could go. I'd say bring extra fuel or atleast top off at the liquor store in stonyford before entering the park. if a few of you guys are interested let me know, we can meet up at a coffee shop and I can show you some maps and pics and see whos interested. also no offense but i like to feel the crowd out before going into the forest with people I don't know but I'm 100 percent down to meet some new friends with jeeps and have some fun. Like i said if your jeep is stock you should be fine and if you rig is really built it might be boring but the adventure is fun. Just be prepared for lots of scratches, the manzanitas are horrible!
