Callalantee July 10-11

Anyone headed to Callalantee this weekend? I've never been and would like to tag along with some people familiar with the location.

I'd like to leave Charlotte around 1pm on Saturday and wheel that afternoon and Sunday morning/afternoon.

UGH! I'll be at the Ringo Starr concert Sunday night and in Durham all weekend. I will be going back up there soon but not this soon after the Crawl.

Dude, I just spent the weekend with quite a few MWC peeps. So you would be normal side of them! :wow:

There is a group from Roanoke going to Mt.City today but i will not be with them unfortunately. Football season is in full swing and I have commitments to take care of for my team. I think they are being joined by some 4x4Grace members and a few others and will wheel this afternoon and tomorrow.

I don't know when or if i will get to wheel my Heep this fall, I've only been to the trails in it one time this year. Oh-well!

Maybe next time.

AVon is more then capable for a lot of the trails out there. Have you forgotten that we were in 6" of snow and ice that day? :doh:

Change of plans! The Heep is packed and I will be headed down there at 5am Saturday. I plan on wheelin with our group from Roanoke and convoy back with them tomorrow afternoon. Thats all the time I could free up but at least its wheelin the junk.

I hope the old girl gets me there and back with most of its remaining parts still on it!!

3 hours mostly interstate and thats taking your time, i could drive hard and get there in less time but no need for that!

About 4 for me. Callantee has to be the best most central place for the chapter to get together but the facilities there suck.

My trip down has turned into a rescue mission, Hadfield snapped a shaft and is having issues getting it fixed LOL! I'm toting power tools down tomorrow, this should be fun!

I've been there before. Did he get it back to the campground? If you need something I think I know of a couple people on the NC 4x4 board that live near there. Knoxville is less then 3 hours I think.

He must have, he requested an extension cord, i hope 50' is enough! He trailered it down so its no big deal if we cant get it fixed. We will load it up and tear something else up.
