Bumper mounts

Anyone know if the mounts are a 97 are the same as the 96. Believe it or not im wanting to change my 97 black to 96 chrome. Can someone help me out with this?? ive seen the 96 to 97 swap but not assbackwards.

Wish you weren't over there or I'd try to swap with you. I need to anti-bling mine. I haven't had time to go to the yard and look for any black stuff.

As far as I know, the mounts are the same at the vehicle end and differ at the bumper end owing to a different bumper profile. However, that different profile also means that you probably can't swap bumper end caps, at least not neatly, and that in turn means that if you put the 96 bumper on your 97, there will be a strange gap in the rear fender flares. The earlier flares go all the way down, but the later ones end where they meet the longer bumper ends.
