Bump Steer with Currie Steering?

sorry for the late reply. we dont have anything like that jim... you might try this Tera Flex High Steer Knuckle. made for 5"+ lift i can order it in if you like
That looks identical to the stock WJ knuckle I have on mine....Find it at a Junkyard of at the dealer for way less than 400 bones. I have access to a reamer if you want to run regular TRE's or just drill it for heims. You can also order an export WJ knuckle for the driver's side if you want to use the upper mounts for a cool high steer, but it will screw up your ackerman angles.

I've put them side by side, the tera knuckle's upper arm is WAY higher than the WJ knuckle's upper arm.

That said, I'd rather do the WJ stuff and get the upgraded brakes too.

Cool ideas, although I won't be able to do a high steer knuckle, since like dan said will throw my ackerman angles off, as well as my steering/trac bar angles. Remember my trac bar axle side in in the stock location. I'll be dropping my frame side a couple inches but axle side will be staying there for now, unless I have problems with it.

Running high steer knuckles doesn't throw your ackerman angles off, it's specifically running the two WJ knuckles (PS - US, DS - Export) using the top arms.

If I were you, I would definitely consider the WJ swap.

You'll get crossover which means no more wheel alignment change with suspension travel, and you'll also decrease the angle on your draglink. Yes you'll have to move your track bar, but whats wrong with having flatter angles?

You'll also get improved braking which to me was one of the main reasons for doing the swap. Locking up 35s wasn't a challenge at all.

I would do heims and just spend some time making the track bar as long as you can and still clear everything. i will take pictures of my setup which has no bumpsteer i can feel. I usually just do trails but i tend to haul ass when i can.

Are you sure about that? Ive heard a few WJ swappers who talked about this happening.

I myself am so ready for WJ conversion. I need to start collecting parts

I'm positive about that, Josh. As a general rule of thumb, if you were to draw a linefrom the center of your tie rod ends, through the midpoint between your upper and lower balljoints, the lines shoud intersect in the center of the jeep at about the rear axle. That's how your wheels turn at different rates when turning (inside tire turns sharper than the outside tire.)

I was debating on your behalf saying that ackermans are affected with WJ hi-steer option. MoparManiac was saying that they are not affected when doing hi-steer on both knuckles.

Am I confusing myself now? :)

It's only affected if you use the draglink mounts on the knuckle for the tie rods with the WJ knuckes. Those draglink mounts are inset away from the tires father toward the center of the jeep than the tie rod mounts. That's where the screwy ackerman angles come from.
