Slightly off-topic, moving to phoenix in a couple of weeks, decided to sell my SJ and keep the XJ. Posted it on IFSJA's website with no luck. I’ve owned this one since 2003, bought and drove it from Wilmington N.C. At the time I was in the Army, stationed in Germany, (bought it while on state-side leave) it sat in storage until I got out in Jan of 2006. Here’s a little bit about it:

- 4" rough country suspension lift, 2" body, on pro-comp 35s and black steel wheels, 75-80% tread, brand new matching spare. (po installation, 5 yrs old)
- Tad rack, regular size, nice, little bit of surface rust on it. (installed 2 yrs ago)
- Nice beefy front custom brush guard(installed 2 yrs ago)
- Razor grill conversion w/brand new headlights(recent install)

- Tfi ignition with MSD Blaster 2 coil. (recent install)
- High-amp alt (4 yrs old)
- Electric fan (po installation, 5 yrs old)
- Cadillac rear disc brake kit (installed 2 yrs ago)
- S10 4wd steering box upgrade (recent install)
- Hydro boost brake upgrade(recent install)
- New water pump (recent install)
- New(rebuilt) power steering box(recent install)
- New fuel pump(recent install)
- New vacuum hoses(recent install)
- New distributor(recent install)
- New A/C condenser(recent install)
- Newly Rebuilt Heads (3 angle valve Job, valve springs, seals) (recent install)
- Cleaned and repainted engine bay area and accessories(recent install)

I'm sure I'm forgetting a few things, but it is a really nice one that needs very little, the body is awesome, floor pans rusted out due to factory vinyl flooring. I took it in to a local restorer, had everything with a hint of rust cut out and replace with brand new pans by Gembox. It was expensive but he did a great job, not a cheap patch job, can’t tell where his seams are at all. I painstakingly Por-15d both the interior side and the undercarriage of the vehicle to make sure it would never happen again. I also Por-15d the engine bay and cleaned up the engine It honestly needs very little. If I was to keep it, I would have a rear bumper built(older factory one is a little dinged up and peeling) either re-gear the axles or go with 31’s and get rid of the body lift. The parking brake needs adjusting, just haven’t really bothered messing with it. A/C works but needs charging. It is really sharp for a 28 year old jeep, need to get rid of it quick (2 weeks!!!!!!!!!!) I’ll let it go for $3,000.

Wow! Let me go talk to the wife. I might consider selling my XJ to step into that thing!

Our of morbid curiosity, how bad is the mileage on that thing? Did you lock the front diff? I've never had full-time 4wd - what are your thoughts on it? Seems less reliable offroad.

nothing covers up rust like a Rage Against the Machine sticker, looks good though not ready for another SUV myself

Does the rear window still roll down? How's the mileage (besides poor, can't get much worse than my Expedition)?

Can you do me a favor and measure the length of the backseat (D/S -> P/S). I'm wondering if I could fit 3 carseats across.

Edit - any idea on the gear ratio?

One more question - 59k or 159k on the odometer? I'm pretty interested, just have to get the wife on board. We live in Vincennes, not far at all from Terre Haute. I'll PM you with my cell #.

Sorry Guys, been outta the loop for a while, ended up making it to Phoenix, damm XJ blew a head gasket a couple of weeks prior to the move further complicating my move. Mileage on this thing is'nt the greatest, right around 10mpg, I could'nt afford to dd it, these gas prices definitely don't help. Mileage is 59K, it is full-time but does have both High Lock and Low lock on the transfer case for the trails. There are kits out there to convert these to pt fwd, but the consensus from other full sized jeep owners is extremely slight mpg gains if any. Gotta love that Rage rust inhibiter:flipoff: ! Illiana XJ, just sent you an email.
