The Veyron may be French built, but I'm pretty sure that Bugatti was an Italian company. Before VW bought it up a while back.

I almost posted this yesterday when I saw this. The best part is in the article I read it says the engine ran for 15 minutes underwater! Some people should not be allowed these cars

1988 Callaway Corvette - 254.8 mph with only 898hp. Makes me think these output claims by Bugatti(1001hp) are false...?

I still like that Bugatti. It costs VW 3-4 million to build each one, then they sell them for half that. Pretty cool.

No it really does put out more than 1001, they just rounded down because they liked the number... I have heard dyno tests being around 1100.:cheers:

Aero. drag increases at the square of speed. Above a certain point, you waste less power accelerating mass and more pushing air.

If I remember right the Bugatti's wing raises as speed increases. Looks like that wing was raised pretty high. With only so many cars made wonder if he can even get it fixed without gutting another one for parts.
