I have a '90 4.0 liter XJ. While investigating an exhaust gasket leak and a split exhaust manifold weld I also discovered that both intake manifold guide pin flanges are broken away/missing.
While I could replace the manifold with another manifold with guide pin flanges intact, I am wondering if it is necessary to do so. I'm leaning toward surface grinding to ensure flatness and then re-use.
I could really use some knowledgeable help to tell me if this is the right resolution to my problem. Please?
