Brakes?

The kit uses standard (and common) OEM parts and adapts them to work together for use on Jeeps. Obviously, the nice Centrix rotors and Black Magic pads the kit comes with are an upgrade over stock components, but if you're stranded in BFE, there will be an easy fix to get you back on the road.

I'm so confused how you have way nicer hardware on your $500 race XJ than I do on my $2000 race XJ! FYI we are running my old Autozone Duralast rotors and Gold pads front with stock Ford rotors and POS $9 "Kool Vue" pads in the rear. lol

Brakes are gorgeous, I might think of these for my offroad XJ.

Thanks! In the series' I compete in, brakes are considered a 'safety item' (as are wheels, tires, seat, harness, cage, etc) and do not count against the $500 price cap.

You're using the Black Magics that are packaged with it, correct?
Yeah, LOVE those brake pads. No fade, very predictable, no warping issues, instant braking even when they're cold, etc. Nothing but good stuff to say. Just wait 'til I get the video edited, Oregon Raceway Park is an awesome piece of tarmac.

It'll be interesting to see how they stop the race car on 33" tires carrying somewhere around 3900#

What does the Petty Cash car weigh?
We're about 2900 lbs, but we also run 100+ mph and do hard stops over and over and over again for close to 1000 miles per event. I've still never come close to using 100% braking power...there's so much left it's scary, I just don't to go through tires.

Wow,.. an XJ with more braking power then it can use. That may be unique.
