Bragging on my kid

I've been gone for a while, so I'm going to catch up and brag a little on my kid. He's been racing motocross for the last 2 years and is doing pretty well. He's consistently in the top 10 locally and is trying to improve to national-level amateur competition.

He just turned 10 and has been racing on a 65cc KTM. I used to think Jeeps were expensive..

Nice kid, dad. You have a right to be proud. It is good to see you working with him. Wish my dad had been more like you. Having raced motorcycles professionally, starting early is good. Just make sure he has every piece of safety gear you can afford.

He does. Good helmets are $$$, but worth it. Thankfully he's got a a support deal with Bell to save us a few bucks.

Thanks Mike. We've got some sponsorships / support agreements with Bell and about half a dozen other brands (Dunlop, Acerbis, ANSR Racing, and others) that get us usually at least 30% off retail. His current helmet is a Bell Moto 9 Flex (MIPS, Carbon shell), but even at 30% off it is still a bunch of money to replace. If there is a way to do better than 30% I'm all ears.

I'm pretty sure he picked just about the most expensive amateur sport on the planet open to kids that young.
