Damn, I'm agreeing with Hinkley?! (usually an indication it's time to rethink my positionMark Hinkley said:Grow up and take it off.
Its a sticker with words, so what.
Most important: Make money take care of you and the family or family to be someday by having a career.
Bosses are a pain in the a$$ and always will be, if you want to make money you have to do what they want.
Now when it is something worth fighting for like a raise in pay, then stand your ground, but for a lame a$$ sticker, NO WAY!

I don't think the guy owns the land, he might be leasing th buildingseanR said:It is not the government telling you to take it off, it a guy who owns the land.
Well... you're talking dress code while at work, which is fineI tell my kids, if the man you are working for wants you to wear a newspaper salior hat, they had better be folding newspapers right quick!

While you are right in regards to the land/lease rules being somewhat close and I will not argue if parking lots are leased or just have the right of usage as it's not really an issue, I do not agree that it is a work related issue. You are right that it is a stupid reason to loose a job (and I don't think it'd be a legal reason to loose the job, although he could get canned for some other "official" reason while this is the underlying reason).Mark Hinkley said:Have you ever leased a building/land? Rights are so close to owner rights its not funny! So BFD if it is a lease.
He's not asking for it to be gone at his home, just work. Put it on a magnetic backing and take it off while parking at work.
This would be so STUPID to loose your job or quit it isn't even funny!

So the question is whether removing the vehicle from the work vicinity would satisfy him and what he would say if he saw you driving with that sticker still on the rig. Would he still be unhappy?
Which part of "wonder what the boss would say if vehicle was parked outside of the work parking lot" did you miss? Per your definition that would remove it from the work space.Mark Hinkley said:You're not thinking about this right. You are looking from an employee not an employer! The boss wants to CYA with his other employee's. Has nothing to do with the sticker and his life out of work. You bring crap to the work space, including the parking lot, you are subject to work rules. These rules are for the good of all the employees per the bosses' opinion. So as an employee who wants to stay employed you go by the rules. And that goes for what you wear, do, and say during those work hours. Now after work crap is no business of the bosses'! Want to see some crazy sheit look into the companies trying to limit smoking of all their employees while on or OFF the job. They are trying to reduce medical costs. Is it right then? I don't think so.
I see the "rights" thing being said. This has nothing to do with rights until the government takes it away!
