Borla exhaust for 99 XJ?

I have a 99', it has only one cat after the downpipe. No lift but I intend on putting a 2" Rocklizard BB on. That shouldn't make a difference right?

So far I have a Banks header, Magnaflow catback, and Magnaflow Highflow cat. I just got to have it all put on. I was going to just get some direct fit Bosh O2 sensors, does anyone have experience w/these.(good/bad)

I just put a FIPK on and a Fastman TB thats bored to 62mm straight through. I've noticed a pretty good difference so far but I'm anxious to get it all together I really think it is all gonna corespond together well.

Depending on what size tube you want for the downtube, you should be fine. There should be more than enough room for a 2" tube, actually the 2" BB should help you, clearance between the front axle and downpipe.

Well I just got off the phone w/that Midas. They told me that they don't have a mandrel type bender. :( So I too am going too have everything else installed and have the downpipe bent up at a later date.

Thanx for all the info CartsXJ but I live off ex 7, so I'm not going to take the hour trip north just to have the same thing that I can have done 10 min away done here.

Hey man I don't blame you. I am surprised they say that, makes me wonder how they bent up my buddy's tail pipe. Sure looks like it was done on an tubing bender. And what are you saying mandrel style bender? If you are talking about an exhaust tubing bender that doesn't put kinks in it, then thats what they have, made some nice bends in the 2.5" tail pipe I've seen. But I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time. Well good luck and you are welcome.

Regular benders leave some little creases on the inside radius of tighter bends. Mandrel bends are smooth the whole way thru.

You might try buying a u bend in the size you want from summit and just have the shop do the cutting and welding.

Good Luck!

No I'm going to have one shop install it and another bend up the down pipe.

Unfortunately the shop I'm going to have install everything doesen't have a mandrel bender, but I found another place that does. The place that does wants nothing to do with installing all the stuff.

Well I just got back from the muffler shop, the one that did the install, and it sounds great. I'm going to take a 20 min trip up the highway in 5 min so I'll see if theres any drone.

I forgot to tell the shop to unplug the battery so I just did it and I'm going to give it 15 min to reset. Is this enough time? Its hard to tell whether or not theres any performance gain but only time will tell right?

If I had to do it all over again I would have saved up the extra cash and bouhgt the Borla. I'm not nocking the Banks product I am just saying that I still have the stock downpipe and if I bought the Borla that wouldn't be an issue.

All in all I am very pleased w/the results and am currently getting 17.5 mpg w/a 2" OME lift, and thats with winter gas. The performance is sweet, along with all the exhaust mods I have a K&N fipk and 62 mm Fastman TB. But the most improvement was found in a complete tuneup, plugs, wires, cap and rotor, the stock stuff was still on there.
