Blue collision light

a rubber weather stripping gasket glued to the light housing will completely eliminate the glare from either light as long as it's positioned close enough to contact the glass. that's how I had my amber last time. you can just pull some door trim rubber off at the parts yard and cut it down to the length you need, and 3M makes a perfect adhesive (part number is like #80880 or something like that).

trucker lights are for gettin tail, not preventing collisions. Im pretty sure my yellow LED housing is truck stop based, and it aint worth crap...

HALOGEN, FOGS.

LEDs tend to be directional with there light output. Some of the LED surface mount emegancy lights have a setting for steady burn and are bright as hell.

does this have anything to do with why mine have a 3 wire pigtail? i wired mine up via the two.... and one is extra.... cannot figure out why?

Yes, you need to hook up both wires. Think of it like a turn signal, it has a low power and a high power. I have two LED dusts and two LED brakes that are both 3 wire. Easily twice as bright as the low setting, also slightly brighter than my halogen dustlight was. I've only tested it in fog around my house so far.

Just a word of the wise. The blue light out the back of any vehicle is for race purposes ONLY. If you run the light while cruising through the dunes or the desert you can get a ticket for impersonating an emergency vehicle.

Also it means that you are a slower vehicle then other classes.

Dirt Yota...thanks i know the legal aspects of it as i read the rule book and i drive emergency response vehicles for a living.

every one else thanks for the inputs will probaly go through kar tec in the near future

I just installed some new strobes n more led lights to replace my China amber strobes, and they are bright!! They are primary warning lights and have a high / low setting with solid burn or built in strobe. I have them controlled via a external flasher.

In direct sunlight they are visible.

They have 5 color options to chose from and are really affordable.

Been awhile since i updated this. Well i found a idnetical blue light to my amber dust light. round LED and was way cheaper then Kar tek. I bought this on the lake bed at KOH in Feb and installed it at my camp. Not as bright as the Amber but is still plenty to show you are a slower class. works great with little glare during the day but a lot at night.

Only picture i seem to have of it and its not even on.
