A friend of mine was cleaning out his shop and gave me an eaton M90 blower. Has anyone seen a blown XJ? Couldn't find any threads on it, I know it's difficult and will require much fabrication and I will have to mess with the computer crap but it would be an awesome project, and feedback on this??

There seem to be a number of people with M-90's sitting in there garage, but nobody ever installs them. There are a few threads if you search. Start with google. One was on pirate, one was on JU.

Heh, well, it would be supercharged not blown. A blower is mounted directly to the intake manifold like a pro mod drag car. A supercharger is mounted like an alternator and has plumbing going to the intake. Just so you don't get laughed at by anyone. But anyway, it would be pretty cool for sure...that sort of goes without saying though I guess.

just so YOU don't get laughed at, I have always heard any car with a supercharger called blown. "Oh, you have FI? Turboed or Blown?" This includes several mustangs, a camaro or two, 2 Goats, and my old bosses Chevy truck. They were a Mix of serp mounted and intake mounted.

I want one, and I had been looking for an M90 for a while, just no luck with the price.

That's the way I've always heard it - if it's a belt-driven supercharger, it's "blown." If it's using a centrifugal, it's got a "leaf blower."

A turbo is always a turbo.

"Overblown" refers to staged supercharging - a turbocharger blowing into a supercharger for truly massive boost (sometimes in excess of four atmospheres. Of boost. Above and beyond the one atmosphere that is always available...)

As I recall, the Eaton M90 is about the right size for 1/2-2/3 atmosphere of boost into the 242ci. I've wanted to do something similar, but I want to use a Whipple/Lysholm (greater adibiatic efficiency,) and fab up an intake so I can lay the thing on its side and keep it all under the hoodline.

Nice Camaro anyway- well it looks like a Camaro. :)
Thanks, it's a brand new Tim McAmis chassis. Thats the first run on it in the pic. About 30 feet down the Lenco locked up and put er in the wall. Its an Alan Johnson Olds 526 with a PSI screwcharger ... yes a screw blower that is normally used on drag boats haha. It will go in the high 5's this year i'm sure.

Probably the 3" body lift. I forget who makes that one.

Modified engine mounts to drop the engine 1 inch would have the same end result, and since xj's have a unibody the body lift is a no go.
