As of 2007 (the latest information I could find) there are 40,296 CCW's issued. Sure, thats nothing to brag about, but they are out there....

That's an awful lot of the "select few" and judges. You might want to check your facts and not just go by what you believe to be true.

Its all good. There were actuality more CCW's issued in 2004/2005 than 2007. Not everyone in California is a left leaning bonehead. :laugh3:

Ohio population is about 11 million, Cali is about 37 million.
So Ohio issues about 1 permit per 170 residents.
California, about 1 in 925.
So yeah, I'd say it looks like they're stingier with the permits...
Maybe only 1/5 as many people want ccw. Hard to say.

There is a huge misconception about CCW's in the state of California, so I can see why everyone thinks its impossible. Most Californians think the same, imagine if the people of California stopped listening to the news and were more educated about their own state laws. 
(which for the most part suck anyway)

A number of coworkers and I, on and off shift, convoyed down to the funeral service to pay our respects. It was a really really large turnout of both uniformed personnel and general public. It was very upsetting to learn about these officers on a more personal level. I would say though that Oakland does have more low life dirtbags per capita then most cities.

Pennsylvania the ratio is either 1 in 3 or 1 in 4. Last stats from the PA sheriffs association show about 1/3 of the residents have ccp. It might be higher now. That was around 2005-2006. Pa is a 'shall issue' state. So figure if you walk into a crowd of a 100 people at least 30 are armed. In more rural areas that number is closer to 60

I may be mistaken but I think WI does not have CCW. I live in the middle of nowhere though. I'd say an armed rifle is usually not very far from my reach at all times. My condolences to the officers and 12 year old. Just another reason I avoid large amounts of people. Just proves the more people that are around the better your chances of getting some @@s hats.
