bikes....

How does the XJ do with that big KLX on the hitch carrier?

I wouldn't want to take it on the Rubicon.

: )

The rear leafs handle the weight alright, but its definitely a bit heavy in the rear.
On the street I can feel the body roll a bit more since I don't have the sway bar out back.
Kind of like pulling a trailer, but you don't have to think about your turning radius.

That's about all I can think to say - it really isn't too noticeable.
I built a flat top for that carrier which now doubles as an awesome camp table.
I'll toss up some pics this evening.

In a former life I had a rip-snorting little Ducati 350 Desmo and a BMW R-65, but these days all my two wheeling is done under human power.

Picked this up about a year ago. Some schmoe knocked it over in a parking lot so I'm in the process of changing all the plastics. Found a company that made a modified nosecone to convert to the newer projector hid lights. Plastics will be white and I'll have a small amount of digitized urban camo and skulls airbrushed on. Something like this..

Gonna stretch it too?
Thought about going plus3 on the 636 but not sure

Thought about it too, but bike parts are three times more expensive then Jeep parts. I'll probably end up pulling the stock one and have it powder coated black.

ya i was just gonna fab up a bracket to stretch it that tiny bit. new parts for bikes are ridiculous

Does anyone else listen to an Ipod while they ride? I find if I don't, I will talk to myself outloud. :looney:

it depends. if i am just cruising around or out goofing off. ill rock an ipod. but if im trying to get down, i dont. i dont run guages so i have to listen to the bike a bit more when i wanna do a lil work :D

what do you usually listen to? (genre)

I used to ride ATVs and Dirt bikes a lot and I would race a little MX here and there but then I rode my cousin's '09 CBR600RR after I got my license and fell in love with sport bikes. Went out and bought a 2003 R6 LE and HATED it. It was mainly because I have never ridden a Yamaha that has a smooth throttle and it was too tall for my short ass legs. I ended up losing my footing on dirt and dropped it. After 100 miles I parked it for the winter and when spring came around I took it for a ride up the driveway and blipped the throttle by accident on sand and went down around 20mph(long driveway) with no helmet or any gear, and decided I should sell it and focus on school, not my next trip to the ER. I'd love to build a bobber or a F4i. I just don't need the HP of the R6 or RR type bike.
Me on my Cousin's RR. You can see how small I am and how I have a hard time fitting on bikes.

My cousin raced MX since he was 10 and he was pretty good. 2 weeks into owning a CBR600 when he turned 18, he lost control and slammed into a tree dying from the impact. Maybe that's true, but here's one case where it isn't.

Reading my post again, I just wanted to say, everyone's got a sob story about how their cousins friends brother died on a bike, so I didn't want to imply anything with my comment except that no matter how good you are riding, you still take a risk every day you go out and no amount of experience can save you from every accident.

Depends on what kind of riding I want to do I guess. It's usually hard rock like Linkin Park and Five Finger Death punch or complete opposite and go electronic Drum n Bass.

so here's a question for all you riders. i'm going to be cutting up a bike either my brothers honda vlx 600 (whether he likes it or not) or a suzuki savage 650.

i'm not a big fan of the look of spoke wheels, after market wheels are completely ridiculous in price. so what all would be involved with swapping a wheel from a different bike.
i couldn't really find any info about that online. other than swapping from different models of hd

Try different triples. If you can get some different triples to work up front you can run other forks.
IE
You want R1 wheel and brakes- try r1 triples. If those work slide in the forks and bam, wheel is in

Bikes?? Purchased my 1st MotoGuzzi back in March 1971, and still have it. Got the2nd Guzzi mid 1990's, and rode that till got hooked into off road riding. Started riding off road (enduros) about 15 years ago. Currently have a GasGas enduro bike, but do not ride to much any more. Get banged up now and then, but any fun sport will take it's toll. Also ride bicycles, mostly mountian bikes. Love the wheelin, but the 1st love is still 2 wheels. Nothin says "I'm free" like blasting down a trail, bouncing off trees.

I've got an 05 SV650s that's been converted to a naked. I wear all the gear all the time. Shoei helmet, Joe Rocket jacket (I've got 2), Joe Rocket pants, full gauntlet gloves, and Sidi boots.

Something about the naked bikes just doesn't appeal to me.

ya gotta ride one. its weird how much more you can see and how much more comfortable it is to ride....
