Me and a some friends are going to Big Bear at the end of August to go wheelin. I was there a couple years ago and ran Gold Mt. and Dishpan Springs with my stock Waggy on 33's. I now have a waggy on 35's w/ a spring over lift and sliders but no lockers. The other vehicles in the group are a XJ on 33's w/ 3" lift and sliders and a TJ on 32's and stock. We want to run Holcomb Creek but not sure what to expect. How does it compare to Gold Mt. and Dishpan?
Also, is there any first come first serve/ non reservation camping near the lake?
Thanks

it has been a very long time since I was there, hopefully someone can chime in with more recent knowledge... But the last time I was there we ran it with an almost stock XJ with 31's and no lockers. It was also in 2 to 3 inches of snow and we had little to no trouble. There were some very tippy parts I seem to recall.

a suzuki sidekick with IFS and 31's made it through a couple months back. you should be fine.

That sidekick doesn't count, it's sick and the driver is nuts!

Yeah if you know what your doing you can run Holcomb Creek but it is a bunch of rock gardens. No lockers isn't ideal, but there are a bunch of you. Sliders help a ton.
