cool trip & pics.
someday we will have to organize a naxja shoot somewhere. i don't get to shoot nearly as often as i like to.

Tannerite is fun! We shot some of that stuff, some clays and we set up a 14 inch metal gong 440 yards out on a hill side and I was able to hit it my first try with my dads 30-06 with a scope and my second try with my crappy ass Mosin M44 with iron sights.

FYI there is a nice gun shop in Fairfield that sells plenty tannerite, they even have rim fire exploding targets.

I love how in Nevada you can roll up to the store and they just have 20 and 30 round Magpul AR mags for 20 bucks a pop. California is such a nanny state...everything is expensive and the holier then thou gun stores in the Bay Area constantly have everything marked up like they are rationing the last supplies.

tannerite is the stuff all right.
i buy it directly from danniel tanner, typically 200 lbs. at a time. he lives about 1/2 hour away from one of my houses in oregon.

this was a few years ago, hit it with my .50 cal bohica, 3 or 4 lbs of tannerite set inside a tire with a steel 55 gallon drum & a road cone on top of it.
there was nothing but shrapnel left of the tire, the drum collapsed almost in half, both ends blew out of it, & the cone went into orbit.
i cant find the pics, but i have set up far, far better launches than this one.

Tim, that is freaking badass. I need to get you down to the ranch for Man's weekend...We do a lot of blowing shit up and burning shit down...and some pretty good wheeling and drinking too.

I've been lurking a lot but decided to finally post up and up date my blog. I scored a deal on a 00' XJ with a bad tranny. I shouldn't jinx my self yet but I'm picking it up on Saturday. Its an all stock 6 cylinder with a AW4 and 31s with soft 8s. I've got extra everything, lift, tranny, you name it. I'm going to convert it to a 5 speed, swap some stuff and sell my RENIX.

It will be built just like my 87, 33s, locked F/R, 4 to 1...blah blah blah. I'm not sure if I'm going to part out what's left or sell the RENIX as a running vehicle. It will still be nicely built for anyone who wants a good wheeler but it won't be locked anymore. I hope this goes well!

Nice find. The renix will stay manual correct? I don't have much money meow, but looking for a manual heep/possible parts swappers into my MJ. Let me know when things get closer

Yeah still a 5 speed. Looks like it will be on 4.5 lift, fully adjustable upper and lowers with drop brackets, double shear track bar, tube front bumper and winch ready, cb radio, possibly the roof rack. I've also rebuilt every thing on it the last few years so it should be a decent camping rig+DD.

looks good! cant wait to see how it turns out. btw saw your post about your 66. looks good man. i got one as well. just got it back to running order!

Post a pic of your mustang on here, let's see it. Honestly mine is a good cruiser but it's no where near a show car.

If all goes well I should have the green junk up and going in a few weeks and have my white one up for sale by February. I'll consider a part out if I get enough interest but I doubt I will seeing how there won't be any fancy drive train parts for sale. I'll also have an AW4 for parts if people need anything. And a stock NP231 for sale. More to come as time goes on.

Nice looking mustang, I love feedbacks. What does "race" suspension consist of? What does a 351 crank do in the 289? I've never heard of that. I imagine the the displacement changes a bit but ultimately is that more of a trick to gain power through connecting rod length vs journal position? I forgot what that ratio is called.

My buddy had a pretty hot long rod 289 with some Chevy internals. Made about 400hp NA, pretty snotty for a SBF.

thanks guys. ya i try not to flaunt it around to much. its more than just a car to me. my dads time to spend with me really.my jeep is my learning tool for more modern cars. but i do love the old ones way better. so much simpler to work with

race suspension = myer raceing leaf springs (very hard compact for limited flex in leafs), and some shelby components. also kona shocks. i have to check the name tho on those.

ill pm you some more specs cause i dont want to put it on here.

Are the RE mono tube shocks similar to the 5100s? Any opinions?

The RE monotubes are supposed to be decent, but are junk in comparison to 5100s.
