Best way to remove factory lower control arm mounts?

What's the best way to remove these? Torch, Plasma, angle grinder?

I just used a grinder with a cutting wheel. They didn't need to be pretty...just gone. Cleaned 'em up with a grinder and spray painted.

If you have access to fancier cutting tools, use 'em. The cutting wheel approach will take you a good hour, but it works fine.

I vote for plasma, I did it with my grinder and cut off wheel and it worked well. The Plasma would be the fastest and probably the cleanest. Less grinding afterwards.

What are you replacing them with? MORE has a good deal on some tabs, 1/4" thick!

Meant the ones on the unibody...

Made new long arm mounts to replace em with.

Angle grinder gets my vote. Just slap a 7" cutting wheel on a 4.5" grinder and go to town. Just watch those fingers.

if you use a grinder, you will definitely need a long wheel.

if you have access to a plasma , that's the way to go.

The mounts on the unibody are galvanized (at least they were on mine) so don't breath the smoke if you use a plasma/torch.

I used a torch and 4" grinder. I would have done it only with the grider but I ran out of cutting wheels.

As stated earlier, if you have access to a plasma cutter, use that and then clean it up with a grinder. I did mine with a 4 1/2" grinder. It was a bit of a pain, but not too bad.
