I always thought a diesel in one would be killer, but after having the burb I think a 8.1 and a 6l80 would be tits. Tons and 37's. :thumbup:
 
I couldn't deal with the diesel noise in an offroad/adventure vehicle... I got a long way along the planning for dropping a 4bt in the XJ before I let the whole thing go. Power and milage would be killer, rattle would drive me nuts. And the CRD swaps are too technical for me to want to deal with.
 
Yeah agreed. I like the 8.1 for that. Not a ton of horses but awesome torque. She's big, obviously, but plenty of room in a full size rig. And trans/tcase options are plentiful.

There are a few 2-headlight waggys... I'm sure DJ can fill in the blanks. The guy seemed to know what he has otherwise, I was choosing to overlook the v6 goof...
 
The two headlight models I have seen were 85 or 86 models only. We have an 88 with 4 headlights . Assumed (we all know what that means ) all after 87 had 4 headlights . The 4.0 v6 comment tells me he doesn't have a clue what it is.
 
Yeah, could go either way. Aside from 36's on a 30, seems a decent price on a pretty good trail rig. Unless the insides are a rats nest.
 
Probably sometime this spring as my mom is downsizing to a townhouse and will need help loving - I'll shoot you a note when it comes together.
