*calling Sam, calling Mr. ZLuster*

Sam's been through a *few* of those CRD's.

I'm pretty sure he could pretty well tell you exactly what's going on.

That being said, $8500 is a biiiit high.

Sam's picked up a couple lately (well at least one), for half that (one does need a new turbo).

What exactly is the big draw to a micro diesel in a Jeep like this ? Kind of reminds me of guys getting all giddy over a 4bt in an XJ .

Honestly, the CRD is a pretty sweet engine.

Ride in a CRD KJ, and you'll like it (other than the KJ part). It'll kick you back in the seat, and it scoots pretty damn good.

If I were doing a ground up MJ build like Sam is, I'd love to have a CRD motor in it as well.

But, it would probably be easier for me to put an LS in

Yup pretty much. I've been driving my VW Vanagon this past week since I replaced the oil pump for a road test. I drove my 06 CRD today to work and I forgot how sweet the engine in, you get on the pedal and it SCOOTS! Climb I70 to the tunnel at 85mph and get 25mpg average doing it.

I'm going to Moab this weekend and I was debating between the XJ and the KJ CRD, the KJ will scoot out there easy, get better mileage, be quieter and more comfortable for the drive.......but its not an XJ offroad. I've taken my 05 CRD all around ouray and down trails like black bear, it will do it, it can handle it, but the XJ does it a little bit easier. All that flys out the window though if you start talking about modified, all my Jeeps are stock.

If anyone is seriously interested in a KJ CRD I will have 2 for sale shortly, an 06 Sport with a low mileage engine and ARP studs/other upgrades, and a 06 limited thats stock with a new turbo.

This is quite the long arm kit.

Wow. It's absolutely obscene that any one person could collect that many amazing cars and cool artifacts. That family is going to be making one massive deposit into their bank account upon conclusion of that auction.

Unreal.

It took some time and some money to build that collection. That ol' boy must have been "living right!"

Kittrell sent this to me yesterday, except the red text has been added since...
