Lol.... Tried to buy that one months ago. Dude's a douchebag to deal with. At least he wasn't lying when he said he'd fix the collision damage and paint it before taking my more than reasonable offer.

He had it at $3800 last week. $3300 is still high. $2500 would be tops.

Yeah, I'd probably stay away from that one. The screwdriver ignition key is a good indication that is a hot Jeep

Looks like kiefers old wheels. He says clear title. Definitely need a quality check on the legitimacy of it. Good deal though.

More likely....... it had been stolen and he got it back and hasn't fixed the damage. One indicator of this is the driver's rear door quarter window appears to be missing tint.... likely broken by the thief and replaced by the owner upon return.

Well if you're wheeling and can't crack open a 231 I guess you need to leave it to the "pros" to "professionaly" fleece you .

I bought my rebuilt 231 from him when I did my 242 -> 231 swap. Super nice guy. He'll build what you want so the price varies. For what it would have cost me to pull a 231 from the junkyard, buy a rebuild kit, and install an SYE, he was charging maybe $100 - $150 in labor. Sure I could have saved the money and done it myself, but lately my time is more valuable than that so it was worth it.

This. A whole lotta this.

Werd. I will be quite happy if I am never inside a 231 again. Too many rebuilds.

$150 Rugged ridge SYE
$205 full rebuild kit EastCoast Gear supply

only need for a full rebuild kit is if you buy a paper weigh toasted 231 ,which would not make sense as I have picked up many used parts from folks who part out Jeeps and a good used 231 can be had for $50-100 that needs no rebuild ...Which I guess it was him kind of stating if you buy a used case it's going to be junk and the only safe bet is buying his $720- 231 ,which if fully rebuilt by the average Joe would cost about $450 if you're silly enough to pay $100 for toated used 231 needing a full rebuild, but a good 231 with SYE is about $250 since , so I'm having a hard time seeing the value in a $720 231 ...lol...it's just me I see 231 and $720 and I just can't see the deal in it .

The value comes into where, like my situation, I don't have garage to work on stuff, all my tools are in the springs, im working 90 hours a week, my sleep is precious, and if I can have some guy hand me a ready to roll case and I hand him money, im happy. The time to run over here and over there and pull this case and order that part and pull this apart and order another part I forgot and go grab something else from someone else...... ya it doesn't exist. That's the value. The value of an item isn't just the sum of its parts but more so what its worth to the buyer. and the saved time and hassle is worth a ton to me. Not that im buying one lol

This ^^^

Yes you can save some money doing it yourself. But taking into account the amount of time to obtain the case, blast it, clean it paint it, assemble it, etc...you're hours into into. For me, my time is worth enough based on what I make hourly...that things like this become more desired. I'd rather spend the extra $ for a complete ready to run case then spent what will amount to less than say $10/hour saving by obtaining everything (fuel, driving time, etc), pulling it apart, assembling it, etc.

Yes for most of us it would make sense to buy the used $250 case with SYE. Then again, some want to know they're essentially getting a new case for $500 more that is going to be a bit better than a used one.

Me...spend a liiiittle more and get a used 4.3 Atlas :D
