i know its not xj related, but......

I called Fiberwerx thursday after work to get a shipping quote on fenders/bedsides for my f150 because im about ready to pull the trigger on a set. Then friday night, randomly i find a set of Glassworks 4" fenders for my truck on Craigslist! I emailed the ad and woke up this morning with an email that had an address for me so i went over and picked them up today.......for $50!!!

They have been primered, but are in otherwise great condition. I'm so stoked to save about $450 off the price of a new pair shipped!! Craigslist score for sure!
 
Yep...... CL has saved me all kinds of monies on my projects. :thumbup:
 
They look almost like the treadwright 37" guard dogs... which are military hummer tire retreads with an MTR pattern iirc.

And are $205 each, but require running 16.5 wheels.
 
they aren't treadwrights, at least not from their website, unless they are brand new. The treadwright guard dogs are an OLD MTR tread pattern. I've owned 2 sets and liked them very much, but their customer service is suffering a bit as they have been growing the last couple of years.
 
Another stupid-cheap chebby trailer from C.L.

Great patina on this one too. That tailgate would be amazing if it weren't for the 12 holes drilled into it. The hinges, chains, latches are all OEM..... thinking of cutting the entire back of it off about 2" back so that the bed ends, chains, latches remain together (likely weld it all together on the back side) and then cut some of the equally patina'd body mount rivets off and pop them into the holes in the tailgate.

Make another wall hanging or maybe go a bit more nuts and make an old bench using this as the back rest. Thinking of making the seat part using old bed wood planks and the steel strips between them. Arm rests from old leaf springs and the rest of the frame I'll have to do some brainstorming on.

I'm pretty sure I was a Sam before Sam was a Sam...... I gotta have a 10 year head start on him if not more..... lol.
 
Lol.... Tried to buy that one months ago. Dude's a douchebag. At least he wasn't lying when he said he'd fix the collision. Damage and paint it before taking my more than reasonable offer.

He had it at $3800 last week. $3300 is still high. $2500 would be tops.
