It's like Deja vu. I'm halfway expextion to see a thread on Monday titled "new toy" followed by a list of everythin wrong and a picture of stang towing ya home with a tj. Oh wait. The super duty it fixed. He will tow with that :gag:

Did Navy hack Mike's username? I have no idea what was just said?

No. I was typing fast and not paying attention. Altho, I'm pretty sure what I said made sense. But I went back and fixed the WORD I butchered for you spelling freaks.

Back to the nonsense

Uh...

Well I talked to him, he said he might be interested in a trade. He won't have any free time till Sunday so I'm gonna go check it out then. I haven't decided if I want it though.

It has a 350 small block bought new from GM about 18k ago cooled by a really big 3 core aluminum racing radiator, I think he said its got a turbo 700 2wd tranny mated to an NP231 from a 99 XJ with an Advanced Adapters SYE. Stretched wheelbase. Chevy 14 bolt mini spool rear, 44 open front with Spicer D60 joints. Says the axles are geared at 3.73 but that the gear ratio in the tranny turns the 40's real well... we'll see about that when I go test it out. I'm not sure I like the suspension though... its got leafs all around, fronts are from a YJ and I don't recall what the rears were. Apparently it flexes good (900 on a 25* RTI ramp) but I bet the leafs give it a pretty firm ride.

I'll know more on Sunday, but from what there is do you guys think its a good deal? I like the rig (minus the leafs, gears, and mini spool/open diffs) but I'm not sure I wanna give up my truck for it. My options are to trade the truck for this rig and then I'll have a crawler but I'll have to DD it, or I can keep the truck and build up the 88 into a crawler and then I'd have a DD/Jeep Hauler AND a toy built exactly how I want, but I don't think I'd have that finished by next season.

Mike I traded my old Jeep for the Lot Buggy. I didn't look before I jumped and it ended up not being a good decision. I learned from the experience and then I moved on... your turn.

Wow. Assuming there's no major issues with it, someone should definitely pick that up and re-sell it. Hell, I might give the guy a call.

Yikes. A jeep with a face only a mother could love............

Man I saw this when I was still lookin for a truck. Has some nice parts but... its uglier than the Lot Buggy was.

That head-on pic in the ad....... is it me? Or does that front axle look way off to the pass. side? :wierd:

Yep, it's a passenger side drop. Look at the rest of the drive train in the ad.

The owner did say "unique" in the ad. LOL

No, not the diff/drop of the axle....... the position of the entire axle. Looks like it's mounted farther to the pass. side - like the leaf spring on the pass side is way over near the center and the driver side leaf is damn near next to the inner-C........ :dunno:

"Looks like" is the key phrase. The shot is not head on, but favors the passenger side. Look at the hood in that pic.

As for the spring mounting; yeah, he probably got creative mounting those axles. I think he's donen more than shorten that '75 Cherokee frame to fit the TJ tub.
