The 8.8 would go into the current XJ. It would then be the main trail rig, instead of the DD/Trail Rig.

so the dd gets 35s and you would wheel the 32s :smoker:

Thing is....... I've not seen a single post where someone has busted an 8.25 on 35's. And since it's bolt up - that makes it cheap, quick and easy. Negatives: Large housing with stupid rock-grabbing lip and rock grabbing shock mounts.

But definitely - if you've got fab skills, then the 8.8 is the better choice since you get disc brakes, smaller diff housing for clearance and argueably stronger components.

BTW Led, that 8.8 you swapped into Trish's rig turned out nice. Would it be appropriate to say she's got a nice rear-end? :D

8.25 and 8.8 cost the same at pull and save 27/29 spline v.s. 31 spline takes less than 2 hours to do the fab

and on the other note yeah I'm sure she would be offended

I have never been unable to go the places I wanted to on 32's. Plus if the XJ was no longer my DD I would go higher+larger tires. The height+32's I currently have is perfect for a DD/Trail Rig. (for now)

Last 8.25 I had was on $60. Sure wish I could get a 8.8 for that kind of money!:rattle:

looking at an 8.8 now, but my fab skills still need work so probably end up waiting till next summer :(

need about 400 more hours welding and then i would trust my welds to hold on something that important
