Interesting, but, how many interesting projects wind up getting picked at the U-Pull?

All I am saying, is that I don't see $1500.

Running, driving, 4x4 with A/C, D44, automatic and short bed MJ with some dents and good tires. Add in a 3" lift, winch bumper and winch. I think it's a good buy at $1500 actually. $1200 would be a bargain.

I sure hope this one doesn't end up at a U-pull.........

I agree, for a working 4wd not a bad deal. I went and looked at a Tacoma (I know, it was for my dad) the over day that had 280k beat to crap and the frame was rusted through. I walked away but I know the guy sold it for $3500. I'm tempted to take a peek at this but the idea of a Renix makes me cringe a little.

good stuff.

Imagine being the tow truck driver having to find that Ford roadside when it breaks down .

There's always plenty of other broke down Fords he can choose from. :laugh3:

wow. deluded on value for a totaled 2.8. knock a zero off and scrap it.

I wonder what tranny is in there. Can't imagine an AX-5 would put up with a V8 for long...

meh - its the 5.7 diesel. It has very few squirrels.

it was in chevy military vehicles... I think the Olds version refernced in the ad is the same smokey POS with slightly less displacement.

The 5.7L was the car engine used in Buick, Chevy, Cadillac, Pontiac, and Oldsmobile cars. It was also used in some 2wd 1/2ton Chevy/GMC trucks and was introduced in 1978. The 6.2L Diesel came later and was used specifically in trucks and vans, plus the HMMWV. It wasn't introduced until 1982.

They're both indirect injection diesel engines but that's probably about where the similarities end. There were also 4.3L V8 and V6 versions used in cars.

Wasn't the 6.5 turbo used on the hmmwv? Only ones I've seen had that one. Either way, they all suck.
