Best of Craigslist

So, how does one report the douche bag to the proper authorities? I did write down the license plate, cause I have a feeling that pic won't be there for long.

Forward to usfs ranger district with necessary info. However that would likely require sorting out exact area.

Fire roads? he knows how to drive into lakes for gods sake! He dominates.

There is a good chance that the "Lake" picture you're all in an uproar about is the big water crossing on Coney Flats. It does have a big rock to pose on near the one "shore"

That said, he is obviously a dumbass, at least in regards to this Jeep. I didn't pay $8500 for my 98 XJ back in 2007 that had far less miles on it. A cheap shortarm kit, some bumpers, and an LED light bar don't add $4K to the value of a vehicle. Sorry, but you can't expect to get your money back on all of those parts.

huh uh, Dutch. Too much altitude. That lake is damn near timberline, Coney is much lower.

Ugh...out of state area code in the contact info...probably moved to CO a year ago, bought this, then got off by "dominating" trout in the lake.

The only good thing about it would be if he was selling it to move, but sounds like he is not...

Probably bought the XJ for 4-5K (pulled off of his credit card) and then racked up another 4-5K on his credit card modifying it. Now he is struggling to make the $300+ a month CC payment at 24% interest for life when all he has to show for it is a 19yr old XJ on 31's

River, where are you. This thing is minty fresh.

In my opinion, the colors are less than desirable and that interior is not practical (wanna go camping with the dogs and get that all muddy?). I really question why anyone would focus on paint and interior and leave that stupid 1.9 in it? Cripes at least mine had the 2.2 but with that 4 speed manual trans it was brutal at any sort of altitude. They could have spent less on interior and paint and thrown a 2.5 Subie motor in and really had something. That's what I wish I could justify. A Westy with a 2.5 manual in decent shape for a reasonable price. Extremely difficult to find. Add syncro to the equation and your in that $50K range easily. Had situations been different, taking the motor/harness out of my green Impreza and dropping it in would have been absolutely awesome. While mine wasn't a pop top it was the Weekender model which I really liked. Still miss that damn thing. Problem with them is that stuff is impossible to find. For these and the Eurovans (which are super cool too).

Jesus

You guys haven't been young and dumb before?
Up to a point, I have to agree! I have watched a lot of honest people, make honest mistakes.

Besides, this guy is nothing compared to the bonehead that rolled his Yota off Red Elephant, and tried to part it out on location. Story goes that he stopped answering his phone soon after the ad went up. Next spring, his truck appeared on a highway ramp, under the watchful care of the local Sheriff Dept...
