I have a Jeep Cherokee sport 4.0l 4x4 auto transmission title in hand 280k miles and there's a crack on the bell housing that causes it to start intermittently when cold. Quoted $1000 to weld the cracked bell housing to complete a good ground for the starter. $1000 is the price.
Am I reading that wrong, or is he trying to say the Jeep will randomly starts? How in the world does a cracked bell housing cause such a thing?

sounds like he's saying the bellhousing crack causes a bad ground and the starter won't always "arc"... that seems a wittle wacky.

I think he means sometimes it will start, sometimes it won't due to the crack (not that a crack should have anything to do with it starting).
See above...thats what I think he means.
Yep probably. Seen many cases where the mechanic makes it look a lot worse than it really is, then plays the "nice guy" game of buying it from them...but paying more than "he should"...only to turn it around and make a good chunk of $$$ on it.

Only does it when its cold... I wonder if it has a remote starter installed? Mine has a function to start itself every so often if the ambient temp is below x degrees.

I still don't understand the reasoning why people remove the fender flares but don't actually trim anything. It doesn't gain that much clearance and looks junky.

Who sells a M8000 winch thats a $500+, without a control box or controller.... aka the stuff that is usuauly hidden under the hood or inside the vehicle, for $300.

Yeah that's SUPER fishy to me.
Ad says $1000obo initially...which means to me has no idea what these retail for.
That right there is a reason to tack weld your bolts in once you have them tightened.

That thing has been passed around forever. No one seems to want to keep it for more than a few years. At least it keeps getting cheaper!
