Best
TNT chassis stiffeners. Bumpers, skids rock rails all home built. Lift, gears and lockers. Beefing up control arm/track bar mounts (after I broke one). A good set of seats. Shelf in the cargo area. Keeps things in place in case of roll over and gave me a place to mount the co2 tank. Cage to come soon. CB radio.What makes this rig good is all the mods work together as a whole.
Worst
Bushwhacker fender flares, plastic and rocks is no good!
Detroit trutrac limited slip in the front axle, as good as a open diff when crawling. An Ox locker is taking its place.
Not going with long arms from the start on my 5.5 inch lift.
Advice
Become a member. The forums will save you $$ and time.
Search. My post count is low for a reason.
Learn to do the work on your rig so when there is trouble on the trail you are not clueless on what to do. There is alot of pride in building your own rig.

Best: Factory Service Manual, ACOS, Trans.Cooler, APN Header, 4.56's, No-Slip Rear, Aussie, Steelies, JKS LCA mini-skids, JCR Tie rod and everything that is adjustable!
Worst: Rigid Rock Rails (Terry is a good fella though), poly spacers, Rusty's AAL, RE twin-tube shocks, ditching my air box, removing the hood liner, Teraflex QD's, anything not adjustable.

Worst : Buying a 2wd, 90, 2.5L, 4 speed Manche.
Best : Buying two totaled xj's (one with a good engine, tranny, t-case .. the other with the axles) and mixing everything together into a 90ish Manche with 6in lift on 33's.
Second Best : Having friends with XJ's to help.

BEST: Tomken gas tank skid. I have landed hard on stumps and rocks so many times with 0 worries. Backing up onto rocks.
WORST: NOT really a worst but more a worthless. My Performance Metal Works door armor. Looks cool but that's about all it does. The rear quarter plates are the only thing that actually get ANY use. Well made though.

Best Mods: Gears, lockers, real offroad tires.
Worst Mods: aluminum wheels, big plastic flares, not enough lift to begin with.
But I NEVER regret building up my 2.5!!!!
