The lock was popped on the drivers door but the ignition was not damaged. Not sure what's up with that. Sounds to me like someone had the Key but the ignition and door share the same key!

Look up "bump key" on YouTube. It's a little more difficult with a 2-sided bump key but I've seen it quite a lot in my line of work. The door lock is simply easier, quicker and quieter to pry out and pull/push on the lock rod to get inside than to sit there bumping a key out in the open outside of the car. If it was his brother, then yeah, that doesn't make a whole lot of sense for the door lock to have been pried if he had a key.

Glad he got it back and can recover at least some of his loss. :thumbup:

Next time maybe he won't have so much audio gear in his rig. Does it ever see dirt? Looks a little clean. But who am I to judge?

It has seen dirt but its only been muddy twice. He wheeled the hell out of his old one and rolled it and decided not to take this one off road. I give him hell for it all the time. He will build another vehicle with that much stereo in it but not for a while. He has a new project now. 02 sportster with a 1200 kit on it. Its not like he left it outside going hey steal my rig! It was in the locked garage, locked, and someone stole it while he was out of town!
