so im up here in truckee with my family without my jeep...
it was killin me passing bunch of trails on 50, 4, 89, and 80 and seeing all the jeeps, buggys etc... on their way to the trails...

would anybody be interested in going to barrett lake on, say... the 18th and 19th?

also, my buddy is getting his 10 day leave from Marine Corps boot camp and we have plans to hit the rubicon on the 1st and 2nd of september.

so if anybody wants to come thatd be awesome, just post up ive never been to barrett lake but it looks like fun and a great place to wheel.

Thanks,
Shomsky

So, are you going to drive all the way back to Pleasanton to pick up your Jeep, then all the way back up to the trail?

Sorry, busy this weekend, but have fun and take lots of pics!

I've never been to deer valley/slick rock. Could one make it through this place with open diffs, 31" mudders, 6" lift in the front and 4" in the rear?

Yeah, I prefer the geometry of a higher front end with my style of wheelen. Most of my time in the dirt is spent at higher speeds and in the air.

HA - That makes perfect since.

Your rig will be fine on Deer Valley. You will have fun on Slick Rock :-)

Tahoe Hi-LO's will be running their Poker Run this weekend. The run starts at Hwy 4 & wolf Creek rd. about 5miles west of Markleeville on Hwy 4. They start about 7am. We will run from the Blue Lakes side of Deer valley. My be 50 to 100 rigs. Dinner and raffel after the run. This is a really fun party. I will be there with the Wandering Wheelers

Hi-Lo's is a club out of Tahoe. Everone's welcome there is a $50 reg' fee and dinner's are $12 (tri-tip).
Just want to let you konw there will be alot of rig on Deer Valley on Saturday and if you start from the Hwy 4 side you will run in to 50 to 100 rigs!

31's are min. for this run, I was told by a freind with a TJ & 35's He could not find a line up the waterfall on slick rock but there is a bypass.
So yes you can do both trail but it will be work

we just got back. it was fun
we went to slickrock yesterday with a group of 3 trailered rigs we met up there and then we came back to the hermitt valley campground which is where deer valley trail dumps out at highway 4, we camped then this morning we wheeled to the end of deer valley trail and wheeled back.

we had ribs last night and sausages this morning

it was a very successful run

remember: Rubicon run the 1st and 2nd whos gonna be there?
