b&m 70268 vs 70264

looking at running one of these coolers soon. which one are most xj owners running and how do you like them?

Also going to plan on Bypassing the radiator all together. some of the driving I do is mountains, and on 38s, I dont think I have to worry about the trans getting up to operating temperature.

The TOP line in the radiator is the return correct. also...if I mount the cooler on its side, does it matter which which I send the fluid in?

I run the 70268 for packaging because it's thinner. Been on for two years on a new trans and have no problems.

I used to run a 70264 but it wasn't enough cooling for me.

Replaced it with a CBR-9836.

Where did you mount it?

I had a 70268 and it seemed to work fine but now it doesn't fit in front of my radiator so I have a crappy tube and fin style behind my bumper with a bunch of holes drilled in it.

also...if I mount the cooler on its side, does it matter which which I send the fluid in?

The inlet should be on the bottom on the outlet on top for side mounting.

run the thinner one if you want an easy install. i mistakenly bought the thicker one and it was a PITA to install in front of the condenser, which i have since then thrown out.
