axle worth?

$75 for the front and $100 for the back...

I'd say just the opposite. The rear is the 27 spline one unless it came out of a newer xj.

I wouldn't even go that high with them the front is really worth the housing and brakes.... and the rear is kinda useless to a lot of people with the availability of the 29 spline stuff

You guys are missing something. He is in Florida. If I am right it is like here they sell D35's for $500 at the junk yard. So, to a knowledgable jeeper the front would be worht $100 and the rear $50 - $100. Then again I could be wrong.

yeah I was thinking like 200 or 250, everything is in good shape. I figure ill try it. Thanks for the info. I know how much TJ axles run but not older xjs.

Down there you might get that. On this board you will be lucky to get half that.

Ive seen those fronts go for $100 fairly easy, the rear can go for $100 too if you find the right person, often just hitting the axles with a wirewheel and a coat of paint will get you some extra cash.

Not to make a new thread, got a 9" I planned to use... but doesn't look like Ill get around to it. Came in a truck I was scrapping, I was told it had a detroit in it, but honestly after pulling it I haven't moved it or anything.

Whats a 9" worth, assuming its 3.73/open

I was thinking $200, or 300-400 if it has the detroit in it.

You can get a used detroit off ebay for about $150. The 9" is worth about $50 IMHO. They are a dime a dozen. That has to be one of the most used axles by a manufacturer ever.

I know they are common, but I still see them going for 200 bucks, built ones going for 600+

I got the axle for nothing, so Im not so much concerned about selling it for a fortune, but the money from the axle is going into the TTJ Club Fund to go toward buying stickers/shirts whatever, so I would like to get the going price.
