Axle swap d30 parts

The shims are underneath the bearings. Needs more pre-load which new bearings may supply some of it, but the pinion set-up is the worst issue.

Ok I'm out almost out of funds for the first time ever I usually throw money to finish a job right (new parts,mechanic, tools). Its seems like 1 of the carrier bearings is kind of worn.The yoke doesnt move up amd down when I yank on it I think the noise. Originally heard was jist backsplash woth no gear oil.is it as simple as throwing this back in caps on same orientation..torque bolts to 55? There wss no loctite when I took it off

It's not "bad" just worn with no pre-load.

Anyone have a good write up? I csnt even find a good torque answer seeing different numbers on every thread every fprum
