Axle Shims

I have a 2001 Cherokee XJ 60th Anniversary Edition. Dana 35C. Iron Rock Offroad 6.5 in critical path long arm lift. I am about to install the mega-short SYE. I will need to measure for a new drive shaft but I'm thinking I need to determine what rear axle shims I need while doing this.

Does anyone have any pointers for this process? I don't want to over/under do the shims.

IRO has built-in 1-in transfer case drop option But says not needed if doing an SYE. I'm fine with doing the drop anyway if it helps.

Just looking for some opinions before I start tearing things apart this weekend.

Not sure who you are getting your driveshaft from but if it is tom woods they can help you determine the shim you need. I drove my jeep in front wheel drive for a few days while I waited for my shaft and shims to show up.

There are too many variables to say what your XJ will need.
Get a angle finder to measure the driveshaft angle and the axle housing
With a SYE, you want the axle yoke to point downward 1-2 degrees, compared to the driveshaft.
My eyes are old, so I use one of these
