have a d35 rear and im trying to replace the axle seal. the one in it has NOK 42914 on the seal but i cant seem to find a cross over. the one i did find gave me a seal # of Timken p/n: 8660S but if i search that one and get the specs on it of:
Wheel Seal I.D. : 1.399"
Wheel Seal O.D. : 2.296"
Wheel Seal Width : .469"

and a p/n: 13990 CR with the specs of:
Wheel Seal I.D. : 1.399"
Wheel Seal O.D. : 2.296"
Wheel Seal Width : .5"

but if i do a search on auto zone or advanced web site their specs on their wheel seals and it lists the timken 8660S.

napas web site dont have a cross reference to the nok number. has anyone changed this seal and remember the part number.

btw i dont have a dial caliper to measure the seal and axle.

i did more research and found on napas web site they list a even diff one. with the specs of:
Wheel Seal I.D. : 1.688"
Wheel Seal O.D. : 2.556"
Wheel Seal Width : .375"

has anyone replaced this seal and know the right part number?

Have you put this on the oem tech area? You will get more help there. Most of us get rid of that rear end. I wish I could help more.

You still have stock gears? If so you should be able to find a Chrysler 8.25 with the same gears as yours for dirt cheap. You could probably even score one that has a LSD too if you are lucky.

You locked in the rear? I have a D35 already set up with 4.10's, and a limited slip diff I will sell you for $100.00. All it needs is new wheel cylinders for the brakes and put the brakes back together. I would even do that for you, and just add the parts cost onto the price (no charge for the labor) if you are interested.
