Axle questions

I hope someone can tell me this or at least where to find it. I have a 92 xj that I want to put lockers, or a limited slip in but I have a couple questions.

1. I know i have the 8.25 rear-end but how do I figure out the gear ratio?

2. I have the 242 transfer case (It's the one with the full-time 4wd option) so I think it's the 242 if anyone can confirm that for sure. Any how in the other threads about lockers someone said they thought if you put a locker in the front, you couldn't run it in full-time anymore. Is this true or not. I don't drive it in full-time very much now, if ever, but it would be good to know for the future.

thanx

Chances are, if you have an auto tranny you have 3.55 gears and a manual has 3.07.

The full time transfer case has a differential in it so it's basically like an open carrier in an axle differential. Therefor, the tranfer case only sees the drive shafts like a rear end would see the axles. A locker wouldn't have any bearing on what the transfer case sees.

I run a powetrax no slip both front and rear. love it. yes you can run the same setup with a 242. and with a locker in the rear your never gonna need 4FT. here is what I suggest...
the easiest thing to do would be to toss in a powetrax no-slip. I have had mine for over 4 years.
you can install it in about an hour with basic hand tools.
