AX5 questions

Yes and no.
It will bolt up to your engine. It won't bolt up to your transfer case, so you would lose 4WD, and you would need a different length rear drive shaft.
Why are you looking for a tranny? If all else fails, you could probably swap over the 4WD tailshaft and housing from your tranny to make the "new" one mate with the transfer case -- but it seems it would be easier and more reliable to just find a tranny already set up for 4WD.

Not only that but.......
I have heard that the shaft is different. That the 2WD is longer, but I cannot confirm this. I personally don't see it b/c the main shaft in an AX-5 is also the output shaft. I would love to get my hands on a 2WD tranny and take it appart and see!
