How are the lines attached to the transmission and radiator? Are they quick disconnects or just threaded. If quick disconnects, how do you disconnect them?
The transmission has a pair of threaded inserts; the tranny line uses a quick disconnect plug into those and into the soft lines that go into the radiator. In his writeup http://stu-offroad.com/engine/aw-4/aw-4-1.htm on page 2, Stu shows a good swap for the hardlines.
The quick disconnects are easy to remove - once the crap is flushed out of the fitting. Use a can of WD-40 with the nozzle straw to blow out the interior portion of the fitting. Once that is clear, you should be able to squeeze the ears together and pull the line clear. The portion of the housing with the ears remains, and the hose pulls out of that.
