Aux Switches (What? Not where!)

Man, I bet it is a royal clusterheck above that OHC, but with how clean it turned out, it's all worth it. Does your factory keyless still work or did you rip the module out?

I didn't have factory keyless. I didn't even have a factory OHC, but $30 at the pick and pull solved that one.

Nicely done! Where did you mount your fitch box? I read the the thread on it and am going to build one. I just wonder if under the hood is a bit too hot? I like the idea of in the back cubby hole but that sure adds to the wire lengths.

Thanks. The FitchBox is under the hood. I would show pics, but I'm way too embarrased at the "temporary" wires" that feed it. It is velcroed on top of the fuse box and wedged under the AC line.

I would like to add some lights to my front bumper, but don't expect to add much more than that at the moment. For a guy with just a few switches, any ideas on where to mount them? Of course everyone should use relays.

From your user name I presume you have a '99. For only a few switches you can mount them in the trim bezel (surrounds HVAC, radio and cig lighter/factory switches) just below the cig lighter.

Beautiful, I forgot how much the Fitchbox helps consolidate the wire count. I love how that turned out.

Here's mine, same fitchbox. I put it underneath the rear seat. Sometimes people pull up the seat and look like they just found a bomb or something. If you have more than 1 or 2 switches I would DEFINITELY recommend a fitchbox.

my switch-center is currently horrible looking. i threw it together before school after setting up my fitchbox (haha).

i have to make another one over winter break and actually cut it correctly and maybe drill the holes in line... and get some nice contura switches.

Billy, i picked up the roadless gear winch control, although installing it here requires some work with the AC/vent ducting.

You're behind your vehicle loading stuff on a rainy night in the mud. You drop the ignition key and didn't see where it went. Now you can grab a flash light (ends up with dead batteries), orrrrr........flip a switch and your backup lights illuminate the area. Good thing too, as you accidentally stepped on the key, pushing it deeper into the mud.

Just one reason for switching the backup lights.

Rasies the idle for police type pacakges for like sitting at a accident with all the lights going... for 97 up all you have to do is ground a terminal at the computer to do it, nice for winching operation.

If you were sitting and running a bunch of lights or any other stuff that has an electrical load, but I see it most usefull for winching.
