auto salvage yards/ U pick!! WHERE IN NY

hey guys
i posted in the NAC forum, but it doesnt seem to be getting much attention.
does anyone know where there is a decent sized yard within 2-3 hours away from NY city. i live about an hour out and i need to find a close one with some jeeps in it.

Are you talking like a regular junk yard? There is one right near me 10 min from albany. What are you looking for? I've seen a couple of XJ's outside waiting to go in. I don't think they'll let you just walk around, pick what you want and buy it.

Its called Kneers junkyard on rt7. Its a 518-279-XXXX number. Hope that helps

Its found under both elmira and horseheads ny.1592 sears rd. (607)739-3851 google search horseheads n.y. pick a part. Last i knew there was xjs.

spechts is a junkyard in warwick, ny. i used to work in rockland its only about 30 min from you... and its $2 to walk around and pull anything you want

if u want to drive a bit there is a place in worcester MA call Sams Pull a Part (subdivision of Lynders auto parts) right off route 20. $2 to get in, take what u want to the door and pay, real cheap and they have a decent selection

i go to smiths all the time

yes, you just walk in the back and pick what you want

there are 100's of XJ's, some tj's , yj's, cj's, and mj's there too as well as a few other vehicles.

they have entire trailors full of axles, driveshafts, doors, hatches, anything you need.

they are good people, i went there and found a drive shaft and wasnt sure if it was gonna work on my xj, so he said take it for free, and bring me 20 bucks sometime if it works for you. If not, come back and ill get the fork lift out and we will flip cherokees until we find the right one for you.

if you are planning a trip to smiths from NY, might want to call ahead and find their hours , because they are sorta wacky.
also its located right near the 2 CT casinos so come for the day to the casinos and while your on your way, you can go to smiths.
