Where do you guys stay when you go to the Badlands? I'm lookin' for a nice campground just to pitch a tent, have a fire and enjoy a beer after a day of wheelin'.

You could also stay at the Attica Family Campground just outside of the ORV park
But Summers is nicer....

I looked at that, and it's perfectly located :) but they don't allow alcohol. I don't believe and drinkin' and wheelin', but when the wheelin' is over I wanna crack a beer, ya know. I'll call Summers. Thanks guys.

definately Summers!

It's 1000 times nicer than the Badlands campground, and it's only a 10 minute drive from the park.

You clowns going to be around Sunday? I might slip out early morning. Drag my junk around a bit. Then head home that evening.

NO, we are not wheelin Sunday.
we're heading home for Mothers Day.

Are you heading out there Friday or just for Saturday? I'd be down for the trip. What a great way to start out summer break! Gotta make it back to Kenosha to see Catfight Sat night, though.

Is the Attica Inn the haunted place in town? There's a real good Prime Rib steak house across the street in town. I stayed there 1 night after I hydro looked the motor in my 91' YJ years ago and had to make arrangements to get back home (4-5 hrs or so). I have since stayed at a bed and breakfast on the way to park in the residential neighborhood a few blocks from the park. It was cheap and really nice. I'm not sure the name of it, but you can find it on the net, it has theme rooms, like the outdoors room, train room, etc.

That is the Attica hotel. The Attica Inn sits just outside of town, behind the Jeep dealer. The B&B is the Apple Inn.

That's the B&B I was talking about, thanks Rev Den. It's really nice and not that expensive at least when I was there over 4 years ago. Stay away from the Attica hotel in town, I didn't know about it being haunted and found out after we checked in. My brother-in-law and I hydro locked the motor in my YJ getting stuck in some water and the Jeep guys that got us out let us wheel with them in their Jeeps and then we stayed at that hotel. It was a little creep with the creeky flooring, and the thick plastic covered renovated upstairs top story renovation. We just got to sleep and got out of there ASAP. There's a nice steakhouse across the street with some of the best Prime Rib I've ever had. It was a favorite of Al Capone and other mobsters way back when, I think the haunting started when someone got killed during those prohibition years.

Here's the NAXJA link from Rev Den's post from sometime ago regarding this haunted hotel in town and another link tied to that thread with some more info. There isn't a whole lot of places to stay in Attica so either camp, go to the B&B, or the Inn outside of town, not the Attica hotel intown.
